MARNI FILLS SPACE

Marni has raised the bar on store spaces. The brand new Spazio Marni is situated in an old factory built in the early 1920s in Viale Umbria 42, Milan, and covers over 1000 square meters. In order to maintain the original architecture and linear geometry while highlighting the patina created over the decades, the renovation of the building had to be a completely unique project. For example, all areas dedicated to back offices are facing the street, giving the highest flexibility to the three biggest spaces in the building. The concept for this multifunctional space is to accommodate all of Marni’s activities: fashion shows, presentations, spaces dedicated to the show room and to special projects, like collaborations with artists, architects and other companies.

On the occasion of the Salone del Mobile 2013 opening, Marni presented the new space through the project “100 Chairs,” which includes "models and colors linked to the idea of urban sitting rooms," and the workshop “ABI-tanti, the Migrating Multitude,” a project of the Education Department of the Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea. It's worth a second look, just for the amount of innovation that went into this renovation, and the cheeky art, which smartly fills the area while displaying just how gloriously spacious the place is.
