POP'S FAVORITE PROVOCATEUR IS COMING FOR PRIMETIME TELEVISION
Season 10 of NBC’s The Voice starts February 29, and the cast of judges, and advisors are firming up. The most recent addition to the ensemble is Miley Cyrus, who tweeted the news in the most Miley way possible: posting a photo of her now-famous tongue on Christina Aguilera’s red button. The Voice’s official Twitter reposted the tweet thus confirming the news. There was speculation that Gwen Stefani would continue on as a judge for another season, but that idea has since been shot down with the announcement of Christina Aguilera return.
The Voice’s appeal has always centered on its A-List crew of judges, but they’ve since doubled that impact with the recent addition of “key advisors.” Season 9 saw the advisor roles filled by Missy Elliott, Selena Gomez, John Fogerty, and Brad Paisley.
How tame Miley will be (or will be forced to be) remains unknown, but she’ll certainly bring a much-needed flair. The pop provocateur recently made headlines for a raunchy cover shoot with Candy magazine, where she posed with a strap-on and sucked on a baton. That might have some worried, but they only need to watch her performance on Saturday Night Live’s 40th anniversary episode to know she cleans up quite well.
