HOME TO ONE-OF-A-KIND STORES AND SOME OF OUR FAVORITE LABELS, IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO LEAVE SOHO WITHOUT A SHOPPING BAG OR TWO
If you've been downtown lately, you know why we think our home, SoHo, is so special. This little area has been divided so many times—remember the "Save SoSo" episode of Model Files?—it can feel like an island on the island, representing a sort of exaggerated sense of social import as tongue-in-cheek as the fashion fiends it houses. Where do you draw the line?
With its hodgepodge of labels, from classic the classics—Chanel, Saint Laurent—to the rebel youths—Rag & Bone, Opening Ceremony—and potentially even more "Necessary Clothing" (no pun intended), SoHo has it all. This melting pot explains the perpetual crowd of sophisticated hipsters from all over the world we're always watching from our Mercer-facing windows.
Whether it's due to the placement (nested between Chinatown and TriBeCa), the architecture, or an incredible blend of high/low fashion, SoHo remains fundamentally unique. The above boutiques have just one location in New York City, so it's no surprise that they all happen to be in our backyard.
