DIOR OPENS A LEGENDARY EXHIBITION IN HONOR OF A LEGENDARY FRAGRANCE
To celebrate the brand's oldest fragrance, Dior invited sixteen female artists worldwide to participate in a special show in Shanghai, China entitled "Miss Dior, Esprit Dior." The participating artists were given only one guideline: to create a piece inspired by a Miss Dior reference, such as the iconic bow that adorns the bottle, a rose, or images of Natalie Portman, Miss Dior du jour. The aim of the exhibit is to honor the history of the classic scent while bringing its DNA into a contemporary light by displaying each artwork next to an image of the reference by which it was inspired. Also included in the show are legendary Dior dresses, as well as designs by current creative director Raf Simons that add a hint of modernity to Dior Couture.
Miss Dior, Esprit Dior opened with a red carpet event that had a VIP guest list, including Ms. Portman herself. The exhibit will be open from June 20th until July 20th at the Shanghai Sculpture Space in Shanghai, China.
