MILLIE BROWN SURVIVED WILTING POINT

"...ANOTHER HALF OF ME WANTED TO STAY IN THERE."

FROM MAY 9TH-MAY 17TH, 2014, VMAGAZINE.COM LIVESTREAMED MILLIE BROWN'S LATEST PERFORMANCE PIECE, "WILTING POINT." NOW, SHE'S BACK TO TELL THE TALE

For one week during New York's Frieze Art Fair, artist Millie Brown set up camp on a decaying bed of flowers at the Refinery Hotel. She did not eat or communicate verbally during this time, and so was forced to enter a meditative state—one that was on display to the crowded streets of the city. We watched the artist every day from a mounted camera that streamed the performance live directly (and exclusively) to our site, fearing the worst, in awe of the strong, calm demeanor she upheld. Thankfully, she's out now and in fine health. Watch her follow-up interview, filmed immediately after she emerged from the space, above.
