One of queer-rap’s trailblazers and resident gender-fucker, Mykki Blanco, teams up with Bronx babe Princess Nokia—formerly Wavy Spice—for “Wish You Would” Blanco’s sickest sound since "Wavvy." Both Brenmar-produced tracks showcase Mykki’s skill with quick-quipped choruses and bass-beat flows. The real icing on the cake with “Wish U Would” is 2014’s rising star, Princess Nokia, whose lyrical offerings—“I’m the only bitch in the Bronx rocking Chanel… looking fresher than kale”—sound like a new generation Lil’ Kim. Without a doubt Blanco can stand on his own, especially after opening for avant-garde goddess Björk last summer, but there’s no denying the future reign of this princess, a welcome guest to the throne. In her own words, Nokia states, “I am the new bitch. I am a problem.”
