Why didn't anyone think of this sooner? The popular Hunx and his Punx song, "You Don't Like Rock n' Roll" perfectly sums up Hedi Slimane's reinterpretation of the Saint Laurent label, so of course the now L.A.-based band would have to back the now L.A.-based brand in the above menswear campaign. Criticized for just how directional the collections have been, the pairing of this song with Slimane's newest ads feels a bit like a response to any backlash. "What the heck is wrong with you? I think you sniff too much glue; you don't rock n' roll and I don't like you," Hunx's Seth Bogart sings, really asking a question about changing tastes, specifically in a male gay scene, which is typically soundtracked with pop or electronic music. We all know that the fashion world can be just as narrow-minded. But Slimane has made it a mission to keep rock alive on the runway, and in his ads and music projects... and there's nothing wrong with that.
