RISING CREATIVE DYAMI ALLEN GOES INTO THE BEST DRESSING ROOMS IN NEW YORK CITY WITH NOTHING BUT AN IPHONE AND THE PEOPLE WHO TRY ON CLOTHES THE BEST. MEET MATTHEW KOSHAK, TODAY'S FRESH FACE
In our second installment of "Game Change," VMAN.com takes one half of Starred out of his Brooklyn apartment to tour Manhattan's shops. Matthew Koshak is a musician first and foremeost, but he knows how to weigh the importance of a band's look, too. In fact, he owes a lot of the attention his music gets to fashion legend Hedi Slimane, who played a Starred song, "Call From Paris," to debut his new Saint Laurent Paris website, and has been a public supporter since. To pull for their grunge-chic styling, Koshak needs to shop smart, so we went to some heavy hitters in each corner of the fashion-meets-rock & roll marketplace. First Koshak stopped in a pop-up featuring designs by Michael Bastian for the BOFFO Building Fashion series for some rare finds. Next, custom leather merchants The Cast offered the perfect motorcycle jacket and classic tees. Last stop, the SoHo flagship for Rick Owens—arguably the ultimate rockstar of the men's fashion world.
