WELCOME TO THE LATEST VMIX, WHERE OUR FAV DJS PREMIERE THEIR NEW SETS EXCLUSIVELY FOR VMAGAZINE.COM

NEXT UP: V GOT THE LATEST MIX FROM THE DJ RESPONSIBLE FOR "MAKIN' PAPERS," THE DEVELOPER OF DIRTY DUTCH HIMSELF, CHUCKIE—AND IT'S DIRTY

PLUS, WE CAUGHT UP WITH THE WORLD RENOWN DJ WHO GOT FLIPPED THE BIRD BY MILEY CYRUS (DON'T WORRY, HE LATER APOLOGIZED FOR THAT TWERK JOKE ON INSTAGRAM AND POSTED THIS VID OF HER DANCING TO HIS SET) ON FASHION, FANS, AND HIS OWN "DIRTY FUNKIN' HOUSE MUSIC"

How would you describe your sound to our listeners?
I would describe my sound as high-energy dirty funkin' house music. When I do shows, I like to play a lot of big drops combined with vocals so there are enough elements to go crazy on the beats and enough vocals to sing along with. For me it's all about giving the crowd what they want, and what I think they need!

What exactly is "Dirty Dutch"?
Dirty Dutch is a platform I started back in 2003, designed to launch new artists and a creative platform that combines music and lifestyle. Dirty Dutch is inspired by the way I saw the Dutch street culture. A combination of a cultural melting pot.

How did you come up with your DJ name?
Back where I grew up in Amsterdam it was pretty normal to have a nickname. It wasn't the nicest neighborhood where I grew up so some of us had nicknames to hide from the police and some of us had a nickname inspired by [our] attitude. Of course I wasn't hiding from the police but I was a little rascal always looking for trouble—so my nickname was inspired by the evil doll Chucky from the movie Child's Play.

What part of your Dutch heritage are you most proud of?
I was born in Surinam, a former Dutch colony but I was raised in Holland. I'm proud of the fact that I grew up in such a culturally diverse environment because it taught me how to respect people from different countries with different backgrounds and religions.

What would be your dream collaboration (if you haven't already done it)?
At some point I would love to do a collaboration with hip-hop legends such as Jay-Z and Timbaland. I'm good friends with Timbaland and we talk about music a lot. Hopefully we'll both find the time to go into the studio and cook up dome crazy music. Hip-hop is my biggest source of inspiration.

How do you deal with your crazy schedule and prep yourself for shows?
I feel that in life you always get one chance to make something out of it. The fact that I can travel the world and make money with my hobby is a true blessing so you have to understand that I wake up happy every day. This one chance I got is my biggest motivation. Although I have a crazy tour schedule, I try to stay as disciplined as much as possible. I make sure I get enough rest in between gigs. I really learned how to sleep on planes and cars. To make sure I get some good rest, I always book hotels with comfortable beds. When it gets really crazy on tour, I book a private jet to make travelling a bit easier. Right before a show I always take a moment for myself to prepare myself mentally.

Where is the best place to party?
The best place to party is definitely an outdoor festival when the sun is shining. People are always so much happier. That's why I think I love to play at festivals in South America.

What is the craziest thing you have seen at one of your shows?
I've seen a lot of crazy things at my shows. From girls flashing to people being so loud that they overruled the music. But one of the craziest things is definitely the fact that some fans travel from far away just to come see me. I had fans telling me that they drove 14 hours just to be at one of my shows. That's why I always put in a lot of work when I play. You got to love the fans.

If you could DJ a runway show, what designer would it be for and why?
I wouldn't mind to DJ a runway show for Louis Vuitton. There's just something classy but edgy I like about Louis Vuitton. I happen to have a whole Louis Vuitton travel collection. I never use it because I’m scared to damage it, hahaha.

What projects are you working on that you are really excited about?
I'm really excited about my latest single "Skydive". A record with this amazing singer from the UK called MayDay. It's actually my first record where I stepped out of my comfort zone. I normally make music for the clubs but I wanted to make a more vocal guided track so girls could sing along to it. Pretty exciting because it's not a record my fans would expect from me. I also have four singles ready for 2014. I hope the world is ready for it.
