REED & ROCK

OVER THE WEEKEND, ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL MUSICIANS OF ALL TIME PASSED AWAY A 71. HERE IS AN ACCOUNT OF OUR LAST SIGHTING OF LOU REED, AT THE FORMER CBGB'S ON BOWERY. WE CONSIDER OURSELVES LUCKY TO HAVE BEEN IN HIS PRESENCE, AND OFFER OUR CONDOLENCES TO HIS LOVED ONES.

October 17th, 2013. Last Thursday, it's fairly safe to say we were in rock and roll heaven. For the launch of Transformer by Lou Reed and Mick Rock, a limited edition book from Genesis Publications, John Varvatos moderated a talk between the photographer and his subject before a rapt audience at the Varvatos occupying the former CBGB's. The book shows never before seen photographs of Lou Reed (solo and with friends David Bowie, Nico, Mick Jagger, Iggy Pop and Andy Warhol) by Mick Rock from 1972-1980.
