EN/NOIR CAN EXPLODE AS MANY DELINEATIONS IN FASHION AS THEY WANT; THIS IS STILL A VERY WEARABLE F/W '13 COLLECTION. HERE ON VMAN.COM, CHECK OUT THE EXCLUSIVE DEBUT OF THEIR NEWEST LOOKBOOK, STARRING IT-BOYS COLE MOHR AND YURI PLESKIN.
En/Noir was only started last year (2012) by designer Rob Garcia, but it's making headway at a healthy pace. I say "healthy" because unlike a few other menswear labels popping up and popping off recently, E/N absolutely rejects the gimmick. It's still a streetwear brand, with all the trappings of this year's high/low label-hungry mens' trends, but the focus here is on luxury, not novelty. Okay, so they kind of started the leather sweatpants trend, but at the time, that was about making a name, not landing a celebrity fan. And not everything here looks like something only Kanye would wear (first). Garcia is all about breaking the barriers: for example, for S/S '14, E/N put out both mens and womens looks for the first time, worked with fine leather and paired it with cottons, and started to add all-over prints to the mainly monochrome palette. He calls it "The New Rock'n'Roll." It makes sense, then, that for this latest lookbook, for F/W '13, we see a pair of barrier-breakers themselves modeling the minimal, high-end rock'n'roll garments—the tatted American Cole Mohr, and Russian Yuri Plskun, both of whom have taken Tumblr by storm (no small feat for male models, even in 2013's ever-more diverse fashion climate).
