IN THE MIDST OF MILAN FASHION WEEK, STUART WEITZMAN UNVEILED ITS NEW ZAHA HADID-DESIGNED STORE AND CELEBRATED WITH A NEW CAMPAIGN FILM AND A VERY SPECIAL SUPERMODEL GUEST
The rubbernecking masses on Via Sant’Andrea only added to the excitement of the glam Stuart Weitzman opening last night in Milan. The store certainly merits the curiosity. Designed by Zaha Hadid, accessories hung oh-so-elegantly amid the bright lights and the architect's signature retro futuristic oblong interiors. One wondered if it this particular project was a tough sell? "Not really," said the man of the moment Mr. Weitzman. "She's a woman and she loves shoes. She was my idea and Kate was too."
Kate is of course Ms. Moss, the current face of the campaign and the evening's other star attraction. (Her presence at the party basically caused the hoi polloi to go borderline ballistic.) Moss was on hand for the debut of a short film entitled Made for Walking which showcases her incredible gams while strutting the streets of London in the latest Weitzman boots. (The video is appropriately set to Nancy Sinatra's famed song, "These Boots Are Made for Walking.") At the party, Moss was mobbed by a sea of admirers but took it all in stride. When asked if getting her photo snapped with the supermodel was a seminal moment, fellow party guest Olivia Palermo astutely replied, "she's cool. I mean, it's Kate."
