On Saturday, Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld hosted the opening night of "Peter Lindbergh," a solo exhibition of works by the iconic German photographer and filmmaker, at his intimate project space on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. Personally selected by Mr. Lindbergh from his archives, the 35 prints in the exhibition span the 1980s through the present, showcasing Lindbergh’s daily life as a photographer through fashion, portraits of icons such as Kate Moss, Amber Valletta, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington, as well as landscapes and still lifes. Guest including Carine Roitfeld, Sisley Restoin, Julia Roitfeld, Linda Evangelista, Alessandra Ambrosio, Doutzen Kroes, Irina Shayk, Karolina Kurkova, Lindsay Ellingson, Franca Sozzani, Stephen Gan, Alek Wek, Michael Avedon, Stavros Niarchos, Miroslava Duma, Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, Crystal Renn, Constance Jablonski, amongst many others, viewed the works in the exhibition, which were accompanied by a spoken word recording by leading contemporary poet and Pulitzer Prize Nominee Forrest Gander. The selection of Lindbergh’s images along with Gander’s poetry created a visual and auditory tableau of heightened perceptual experience. The exhibition will be on view from Sunday September 8th to October 4th, 2013.
