SAY HELLO TO FALL WITH NIKE'S LATEST INNOVATION: THE REMARKABLY WARM, ASTONISHINGLY LIGHT, MINIMALIST-CHIC, AIR-ENHANCED TECH FLEECE
Earlier this year, I was given a private preview of everything Nike has coming out for Fall, and though I was embargoed from Instagramming the wares on display, I was particularly enamored with the Nike Tech Pack. Rendered largely through a grey jersey palette, the material is, up close, something to marvel at.
Made of a new material that consists of plush foam between layers of cotton jersey, the Tech Fleece is a tri-layer fabric that gives lightweight warmth and responds to the natural movement of whoever is wearing it. In order to highlight the ingenious properties of the material, the design of each piece was put through a stripping down process—silhouettes slimmed, topstitching reduced, and innovative seaming that gives an almost two-dimensional, paper-like quality to the clothes. To see something as classic and iconic as Nike's Windrunner jacket transmitted through the language of this new textile is akin to seeing a gray Nike sweatshirt in a futuristic sci-fi film.
But the trip is that it's subtle. Will all jersey sportswear mimic this advancement in the future? Who cares as long as you can pick this stuff up RIGHT NOW?
Don't be surprised if you see a lot of fashion week attendees in this new minimal and fresh range from the world's greatest sportswear brand.
