06.02.08 WAY OUT WEST
The L.A. scene converges on Robertson Blvd. for the opening of the new Chanel boutique

Even though co-hosts Lisa Eisner and Linda Evangelista were nowhere to be seen at the opening of Chanel's mini-boutique on Roberston Boulevard in Los Angeles on Thursday evening, the event still managed to attract several Hollywood favorites (and by that we mean old-school West Coast counterparts including Ione Skye, Donovan Leitch, and Kirsty Hume). Indeed, B-grade reality TV starlets attempting to make an entrance may work for some (i.e. clueless paparazzi), but our favorite arrival was that of Edward Enninful, who dashed in undetected only to be met with a giant hello hug from none other than Amber Valletta. Adding to the eye candy factor too was the 5,395-square-foot boutique complete with a landscaped courtyard designed by Peter Marino and its tightly edited selection of ready-to-wear, fine jewelry, accessories, and cosmetics (including the much-coveted limited-edition collection of nail polish created exclusively for the store). Karl would have been proud.
